Webelos Celebration

Attention Cubmasters and Scoutmasters:

It has been a long time since Bo Qui District has recognized the acheivements of our 2nd year Webelo Scout. Please extend this invitation to all the 2nd year Webelos who have or will be bridging over this year in your unit. On Saturday, May 3, 2008, at the Spring Camporee in Knoxville there will be a ceremony put on for the 2nd year Webelos. The Scouts can come out for the day or attend with the Troop.

The program will start at 6:30pm. Webelos bring your parents.

2008 Spring Camporee

2008 Spring Camporee

Getting tired of winter yet! Let's get your tents out, heat up the coffee pot and attend the Spring Camporee. Let's see how many boy scouts we can get for a camp out. Let's all meet up May 2-4, 2008 at Camp Collins in Knoxville, where we can have fun in the sun after a very long winters stay indoors. Get your forms into the Scout Office.

Keep a Scouter in your prayers. Russ Steig has been diagnosed with cancer and could use your prayers. Russ has been active with Troop 30 in Norwalk and is the Training Chair for Bo Qui District.

Let's Play Hockey

Get the kids fired up to attend the Iowa Stars Hockey game, Saturday, February 9, 2008. Your unit has the opportunity to an afternoon of fun, attend the game and spend the night at Wells Fargo Arena. See details attached.

Last Bo-Qui Training Date

Last chance to take training before the summer comes. You can take the next den leader training before you actually move over with your scouts. Get that registration in so they can ensure to have enough training material for you.

BIG Change for Order of the Arrow

The word is out. Randy Gerke, Chapter Advisor, was just notified that a big change is coming.

At the Lodge Executive Committee meeting (LECM) tomorrow, January 5, 2008, at 2:00pm they will discuss the new change. The meeting will be at the Marriott Hotel, downtown Des Moines same location as the OA Winter Banquet.

One of the topics for discussion will be when the new Ordeal does his service project. Instead of doing this during summer camp the candidate will instead have to come back to either Fall Fellowship or Spring Conclave to be completed.

Hope to see as many people at this meeting as possible.
